A Five Second Animation

Final Video

I wasn't able to accomplish a successful loop, there were too many animation issues/inconsistencies with my illustration. Lack of foresight on my part.
BUT- I did manage to fake a camera-shake, which, I think, is a pretty great illusion. Aside from that though, I changed the area of the frame that's covered with the camera window and doubled the speed. Its only 5 seconds now, but its 5 seconds I'm proud of.

This Blogger player doesn't really do it justice. Here's a larger version on youtube.

Preliminary Video

Here is the rough images patched together and animated. I'm going to try and add a camera shake, maybe manually since I don't know any other way and my After Effects is defunct. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to loop it, but that's the last step.

Final Mock-Up

Here's is a mock-up of what I can hopefully create in After Affects. All the pieces are set, now I just need to edit the motion in, maybe add some camera shake, and hopefully create something neat. On to After Effects

Colored Layers

Here are the 5 layers that will be moving in front of the sky, and the frame they'll be fitting in.

Sky

I combined several different sky drawings that I've made with prismacolor markers, and created this in photoshop. I'm pretty pleased with it. (Made a new banner out of it as well.) Here are the skies I used for the amalgamation:

Realized Layers

I just drew the panels for the image. I'll be coloring them by hand, as per David's suggestion, rather than computer. Below are two close-ups of the frames that will be moving past each other at different rates. Hopefully it'll look like you're driving in a car and looking out the window.

I'm going to change the placement of some palm trees in photoshop so that they're not dispersed so evenly.

The sky is going to be completely color, so there's nothing to post at the moment. But that'll be the final layer.

Loop

I've decided to use this blog as production diary for a small looped animation I'm going to create using Adobe After Effects. I think this is a natural lead in for the type of work I've been doing in all my classes lately, and it'll be good editing practice.
This is just a preliminary sketch so I can try and grasp the different layers and what speeds they'll move. Probably the first of many, because these ideas are never as simple as they seem.

Some Sky to Work With

I guess I've always loved light, and sky-scapes. But only recently have I started drawing them, and I think the results have been interesting, and have the potential to be really cool. Blogging still confused me a little, so I'm going to try and get the ball rolling with just some photos either my mom or I have taken.
